Taiji: A gentle way to reduce stress

Taiji is one of the major martial arts tradition in China, emphasizing internal and external cultivation to promote health and self defence.

Why Taiji?
When learned correctly and performed regularly, Taiji can be a positive part of an overall approach to improving your health. The benefits of tai chi may include:

  • Decreased stress, anxiety and depression
  • Improved mood
  • Improved aerobic capacity
  • Increased energy and stamina
  • Improved flexibility, balance and agility
  • Improved muscle strength and definition

More research is needed to determine the health benefits of Taiji. Some evidence indicates that taiji also may help:
  • Enhance quality of sleep
  • Enhance the immune system
  • Help lower blood pressure
  • Improve joint pain
  • Improve symptoms of congestive heart failure
  • Improve overall well-being
  • Reduce risk of falls in older adults

At Swiss Health Coaching we teach Wu Style Taiji, one of the four major taiji styles. Wu Style Taiji emphasizes high stands with small circular movements. Wu style has a very systematic way of learning, which makes it easier for beginners to grasp the art of taiji. 

This course is for beginners, who are interested in learning a traditional form of taiji.
